Colleen Mote | Interior Stylist
I believe that any space can feel special and celebrated by adding details that warm your heart and spark a little joy.
I’m drawn to places that make me feel something, whether it’s a dreamy hotel like Hotel Fougère or the awe-inspiring Pantheon in Rome. I notice every detail—a cool lamp, greenish-blue walls, dappled light on centuries-old stone, but mostly, I soak in how those spaces make me feel.
I think spaces should be composed slowly, with affection, over years of treasure hunting, with each antique and vintage object chosen not to match, but to belong, never just “filler.” I love homes that are intimate, nostalgic yet current, built piece by piece and layer by layer. I bring that same thoughtful, detail-oriented mindset to styling, creating spaces that feel unique, warm, and livable.
Your home should welcome you to do what you love most. For me, that’s eating fresh chocolate chip cookies with lots of crunchy salt. I’m known for obsessively hunting down antique oil paintings (especially if they’re a steal!) and collecting tiny hundred-year-old treasures from France. My career has always centered on celebrating spaces, from business development and marketing with top architecture and design firms to a previous chapter as a landscape designer, which sparked my love of greenery.
